Happy Mother's Day

A few random pictures to help say Happy Mother's Day to a very special Mom!

A Scarlet Tanager I think...took this a few days ago at our house...He was in the 

back driveway...also saw the female, but didn't get a picture of her.

the Sprirea in the Mae yard did good this year!

Sock Monkey likes all the seashells!

Indigo Bunting...taken in our driveway...We have a pair of these around the house this year..saw

them again this morning!

If Walls Could Talk-Part Three

Four rolls of awesome old time yard fencing...love that! 

In one of the Northeast rooms these old bricks lined the floor

I like how the doors had windows above them.

Mud and straw had been used as insulation..and held up in part by sticks

had neat support posts, but they don't really show in the picture.

If Walls Could Talk-Part Two

One of four dormers...and also the one in the worst shape. I thought it was interesting

that the two to the west had sheet iron over the top part of the windows. Neat old 

tin roof too! Bet it sounds neat when it's raining!

Near the base of the windows....maybe for shutters??

Neat blue color on the roof of the porch on the West.....the porch ran the entire length

of the back side of the house....so neat.....must have been really nice to sit on that porch

and watch the sun set over the Maries Valley!

and had these big beams in it too..

I got to go through an old house yesterday....a very big old house...Sure would have liked

to have seen this home in it's day....Had to be something else!  More to follow.....

Vintage Fisher-Price

We had our city-wide yard sales a couple of days ago....such a rainy and cold day, but

I did go out and hit a few sales...This was my find of the day....a vintage Little People toy

that had several pieces with it...wheelchair, ambulance, scale, x-ray machine, crib, etc.

I was excited to find these, Tyler really likes playing with the little people, and I 

didn't have this set already.

I saw this sitting on a table with other misc items and thought to myself "that looks old"....

then I realized it was a Little People thing! And the best part of all????

The price! I about flipped when I saw that it was only....get this...a quarter! woo hoo! Made my day!
