Kansas!

One of the four regions of Kansas....and there are distinct regions if you travel from one end to the other and pay attention!
Sock Monkey visits the "Oasis of the Plains" aka Colby, Kansas
They even had some palm trees on the grounds!
Didn't go by this on purpose....we were looking for a gas station!
Big bird at the intersection where I took the pictures of the capital of Kansas.
Of course we had to stop at Cabela's! Ha!

Colorado Randoms

Sunset  one night when we were watching the elk...
Lake Irene, I think it was....we walked a trail all around this lake..Was very quiet and peaceful there.
Richard spotted this bear way up on the side of a mountain.....
This kid was so funny...One night when we watched the elk we were parked by a family from Wyoming....This little boy got tired of waiting for the elk to come out of the woods, so he got some sticks and was walking around in the grass pretending he was an elk....
Looking up at the pretty Aspens..
This area had red rocks!

Changing Seasons

This little guy was on a chair on the deck of our cabin last week.....He looks annoyed because I am taking his picture!
Leaves seem to me to be changing earlier this year...This poke weed sure is pretty!
We still have a few tomatoes from the garden....sweet corn is some we froze this Summer....Nothing better than garden tomatoes and corn!
One of our Fall displays....we grew all of these except the huge one!
And another display...grew all of these also..Sarah and Matt gave us this huge Mum for Grandparent's Day...It is going to have wine-colored blooms...
Frog that was in front of our deck here at the house..
It was a warm week...until today...After Richard got home from work today we made a quick trip to the cabin to get some dry firewood...which we happened to have tarped out there...Have our first fire in the furnace tonight!
