Yard Sale and Pie

My yard sale finds from a while back!   The kids love hte I  Spy books....and  I thought the flamingo lanterns will be fun at the river this Summer.  Not sure what I will do with the garland, but I liked both of them!

The "pie"  that was served to me in a carry-out meal.  haha

Picked some paw paws tonight that I have been watching progress for months...I hadn't tried one in years until tonight.  Pretty good!!

The Weekend

Sadly, I only took a couple pictures this weekend...Richard cooked four slabs of ribs ...we had some but the real reason he cooked some was to take some to a funeral dinner....

Wednesday

I had Emily today, just because I can, and we had a super-good day!  here she is playing with Polly Pockets from the 90's.  She sure is having fun with them!

We also took Tyler to/from school, since they didn't have bus service today.  He was wanting a snack and decided on pancakes...I made him a BIG pancake!  He ate it all and I told Sarah he probably won't each much supper! Ha!  We sure had a good time with both of them!

I cleaned out another cabinet this week.....I do believe it is time I start skipping those good sale prices in the pasta section! Wow! and dry Great Northern Beans....there are four pounds here!

Took a road trip the other day and had lunch at this place....Richard really likes this place!

Picture of a tree across the river from our cabin. Tyler kept saying "see the Jesus sign"  and being all amazed by something....this happened a couple different days..finally he got it through to us that this tree had the shape of the Christian fish symbol...see it?  He is a neat kid.

Malinda gave them gifts the last day of swim lessons....in Tyler's hand is the lego thing he put together that she bought him. He loves legos!  and Emily adores her Pocohantas doll!

Coolers all over the track. This is the annual end to the week long band camp. and enormous water fight.  I will keep my thoughts on this to myself.

Church Dinner

The kids and I watched Richard cook some this morning for the church dinner honoring our graduates..the main dish was grilled chicken breast.

He also cooks several steaks to slice up and share...

the sun was bothering the kids...especially Tyler!

Richard works hard on these dinners and this one was so good, just like they all are!

Viola

Before our Florida trip, Richard had taken a gallon of wild mushrooms to our friend, Viola. She is an older lady and we like to bring her things like that, garden produce, etc.  and look what she brought us! a pan of home made cinnamon rolls! and they were still a bit warm!

and a wonderful apple pie she had made! it was still hot!

Pretty sure we got the better end of that deal!

Looks Like Spring

These two pictures just say Spring!  My brother-in-law found a bunch of red mushrooms, this is only part of them...he is good to share with us!

Redbuds are blooming also....seem a little sparse this year, but it's still early.  Sure enjoy seeing them brighten up the scenery!

I found these two pigs when I was reorganizing some shelves downstairs....they are interesting, but not sure where they came from..

 Beef! It's what's for dinner!  This is from a while back and the carrots are always the best part!

New Year's 2017

We took a drive this afternoon out in the Hayden/Dry Creek/Cliffty areas.

Neat old building...would love to go walk around it.

Some of these buildings I have photographed before, and some are more rundown than they were the last time I saw them. Would like to go look closer at all of them!

Here is part of our New Year's Eve dinner...It was really good and we had a good time. Always makes me think of the people that have shared this dinner with us in the past.......Miss them!
