Yard Sale and Pie

My yard sale finds from a while back!   The kids love hte I  Spy books....and  I thought the flamingo lanterns will be fun at the river this Summer.  Not sure what I will do with the garland, but I liked both of them!

The "pie"  that was served to me in a carry-out meal.  haha  

 

Dried Citrus

I made this dried citrus wall hanging  for the holidays.....it is hanging by the front door. It's ok I guess, but is kind of giving off a beachy vibe..

 

Mute Monday

Valentine's Day

I used the grapevine tree I made last Summer and decorated it for Valentine's Day...not so sure about the bow on top! HA! 

but it looks alright I guess....Will maybe put lights on it next year..

Tree Lights

Here is why you should always unplug your tree lights before leaving or going to bed. I put these on the tree last night and was putting ornaments on this morning. I was taking a break and noticed a strand of lights had started going dim...within seconds it had gone out and then I saw a little plume of smoke coming from the light....glad I was there! Scary!

Easter Tree

A few days ago I decided to make an Easter tree for the front table..so off to the Mae field I went to cut a couple branches..

Got out my trusty white spray paint...

Found a container from the dungeon to put it in....the Spanish Moss came from my Mom's yard in Florida...the pot was Juanita's I think.

and here it is decorated! It is a little bigger than I thought it would be!

Merry Christmas Eve

I believe I have things ready for our gathering later today! Just going to make some red velvet brownies and some snickerdoodles. Looking forward to seeing everyone later on today!

Passion Vine and Sea Shells

I visited a house in the country earlier this week....I saw this vine going all over the place at a homeplace...I was not familiar with this plant, so I went home and looked it up. I believe it is called a Passion Flower/Vine...Anyone know if this is correct?  Interesting bloom, for sure!

Figured since it's nearly Labor Day I will be taking down my front table decorations in a week or so....I have enjoyed looking at these sea shells all Summer....and I love the sign I got for my birthday!

The Great Pumpkin

Richard came home from work this afternoon and brought the Great Pumpkin with him! He bought it up in Osage County....It is HUGE!

It fit nicely into our Fall display!

This afternoon I took some time to gather some dried weeds for an arrangement....I didn't go down any county roads, but still got a decent assortment....Will see how much mess it makes on the floor..

Richard gathered some Black Walnuts and  spread them out in the driveway to get the husks off of them so we can use them...these are going to be sooo good!

I used the garden hose and lots of water pressure to wash out the grill that was in the flood...when I got done I saw this spider on the back side....interesting pattern on it!

An all-black Wooly Worm...Have heard of others finding all black ones also...wondering what kind of Winter we are in for! Perhaps I will check some Persimmon seeds tomorrow!

Sunday Randoms

Richard was cleaning around in the "red shed" one day and found these objects....the spoon

cleaned up nicely and so did that cute glass bottle with the stopper-type lid!

I switched out our front table this past week...will use this one here for  awhile, just to 

change things up a bit....also decided to go with red glass as the decor...

Wreath our daughter made us for Christmas....pretty cool!

My friend was back Friday morning, working on the wood pile!

Front Table

Several days ago I changed what was being displayed on our "front table"  This is a fairly uninspired display. Although I do like all the items on it!

This bowl was my Mom's.....I saw one exactly like it in the Old Jail the other day...

This pitcher belonged to my Missouri Grandparents....I have used it on the front table before..pretty!

It is kind of fun to put different things on display on that table.....I need to do a better job of changing it more often!

Blue Morning

Table display I set up one day last week....decided to go with blues this time...Old canning jar, fiesta ware sugar bowl, lovely pitcher that my Mom admired at an auction, so my Dad bought it....bidding against another lady from our church ......wonderful salt/peppers and a blue jay feather.

These belonged to my Missouri Grandparents and have been living in the china cabinet in the living room.....

Fall Decorations

I took several different items and arranged them in Chuck's bowl...I thought it turned out ok..... And arranged the Sage from Nebraska in this nice vase, which my grandparents brought back from Mexico...

It's nice to have more time to piddle with stuff like this now that I am retired!

Fall Flowers/Happy Anniversary

The arrangement we have on our coffee table now...I made this for our younger daughter's wedding....what a happy day that was! Wishing a Happy Anniversary to two very special people!

Grandparent's Day

We sure appreciate all the gifts and thoughtfulness! We are so lucky to have little Tyler in our lives! and his parents too!

Monday

Jack works entirely too hard! I think he is irritated because I disturbed his nap. I better quit posting pictures of him or people are going to think I am a crazy cat lady! One of the two hanging baskets on our back deck. I am enjoying these alot.

Chair and ottoman I got at a yard sale for eight dollars. Nice place to sit and watch the hummingbirds.

Pink dwarf daylillies that started blooming yesterday.

The first daylilly of the season...taken in front on the Mae Porch on Sunday morning.

My second attempt at a Flag Day/Fourth of July display....not even going to post the first attempt! Anyway, going with the red, white and blue theme for now. Nice red pitcher was my Mom's....little flag I got at Imogene G.'s auction. White canister our daughter gave me, I believe it had a candle in it.....blue bottle and red dish came from our pastor's moving sale....little blue deal from our dentist...paperweight from my Mom.....bird nest from my first battle with the honeysuckle last week..anyway, it's ok...not the best but will be ok for a few weeks.

Still sweltering here in Missouri...have a good one!
