Dried Citrus

I made this dried citrus wall hanging  for the holidays.....it is hanging by the front door. It's ok I guess, but is kind of giving off a beachy vibe..

 

Yard

I am trying to get caught up on here...this is "dead man's  fingers" or toes maybe    a fungus I saw growing earlier this summer

I enjoyed the catbirds this Summer....we always have some nest in our yard.

Hoop Wreath

My latest wreath project....still needs a bit of finishing.  And I am planning on hanging it with some thick white cord, perhaps strung with some wooden beads...we'll see!

All the Pretty Colors

I have a net ball scrubbie project on going..this picture shows some of the net colors I am using.  It is fun to match up what colors you want together!

Valentine craft from the Grandkids!  Love how special they are! Mom is so good to make crafts for the kids to give us! love them!

Wreath Project

I tried my first attempt at wreath making recently....these need a bit of finishing, but look ok I guess.  Will be doing a few more in the future...

More Catching Up

Emily earlier in the Summer...had out the totes of Happy Meal Barbies...would line them up and knock them down!

The twins had fun playing on the atv...no doubt imaging some fun adventures.

Finished my grapevine tree a week ago. not real happy with the top, but it'll be alright, at least for now.

More atv fun!  they got these paper bags out of their van and a couple of them went around collecting things from the yard....hickory nuts, seed pods, etc.  fun activity.

Grapevine Project

I started a new project a week or so ago..Making a grapevine tree to decorate at Christmas and possibly other holidays as well.   I started off with a small tomato cage and a big pile of grapevine that I got right here in our yard and the mae yard.

Getting started on it....it's a learning process and imagine the next one will be better/easier

and still going on it...

Have to get some more grapevine and then will finish....will post a picture if it turns out decent at all.  So far has been a fun project!

Another Puzzle

I finished another puzzle! Richard got me this one for Christmas...so now I have done all my new ones..that's ok...I have quite a supply of others to pick from!

A Puzzle and the Other Side of the River

the puzzle I have been working on....998 pieces of a 1000 piece puzzle....two pieces missing, never had that happen before..

They are working on the other side of the river now...We went out late afternoon and were only there a few minutes....blue dump truck just unloaded.

Old Time Christmas

I went through some of my Christmas boxes a couple days ago to see what all was in them. I came across these ceramic ornaments....believe someone made them for my Mom once...

a festive Santa pin, the nose is supposed to light up...

various vintage things. I actually have several of those white bell looking things. They are made in part of sugar. can't believe they have not melted in the dungeon!

Some crafty things I made when I was a kid. I think some of these were 4-H projects....just sure the tin can lid wind chimes were from 4-H.  Can you imagine the uproar there would be now if you gave a bunch of kids sharp can lids to do crafts with?  We were told to be careful and I believe we were...there is a glittery Sycamore ball......the ornament on the left was made from egg carton parts....and the bottom middle ornament was made by using tiny pictures cut from Christmas Cards and pieced/glued together. I am thinking that must have taken a very long time to make! Ha!

These actually have a pretty sound when shaken against each other..

This was used by my Mom when she was Elem Sec. She would display it in the window of the office so the kids could see it from the hall. She said they really liked it and I bet they did. I am really liking it now, displayed on a little table by our dishwasher!

Back to the Fifties

I made some curtains for our youngest daughter yesterday, then ironed them.....old school style! with a vintage ironing board and iron! I believe my Mom said the iron was a gift to her from her Grandmother!  and it still works great!

Busy Day

Has been a busy morning here.........First I stained this awesome picnic table Sarah and Matt got for us for the cabin..

Will put the protective coat on later tonight or tomorrow...I think it looks great!

This is only part of the cucumbers we will be dealing with this afternoon!

New Clothesline

Richard put me up a new clothesline this week! First we had to go here to get supplies! I remember going to Becker's with my Dad, I suppose when they were first in business..I can remember Mr. Becker in a room that had a lot of sawdust on the floor.

More River Time

Here is Richard's sandbox project at the river..we got the boards from Matt and Sarah..he just shortened them a bit.

I think the kids will have fun in it....we'll need to finish it and get some sand...Yes, the river is muddy in the background. Hope we don't get too much rain this week!

Barbie and Friends

I needed something to do yesterday, so I went downstairs to the dungeon...I decided to start on the barbies..oh my, what was I thinking when I stored these away? What a mess! I left all the "extras" down there, shoes, purses, furniture, etc etc So, still lots to go through downstairs...Here is a tangled mess of Barbie type dolls

I did find some  Spice Girl dolls....these are in decent shape, as I believe the girls were pretty much done with dolls when I bought these..the one with the pink shoes is a Sabrina doll

Oh heck...the dolls on the white cake plate are vintage..probably three of them where mine, the rest I believe I picked up at yard sales, and Patty gave the girls two of them...to the left and all around are more Barbie type dolls

and then to the right of the cake plate.....This project is going to take me forever. 

This doll was in with the Barbie tote stuff...note the rope around it's neck!

It appears this doll was tortured haha  or it didn't like the conditions in the dungeon, which is totally possible....

Maybe  I can manage to throw this one away?

These little guys were tangled in one of the Ariel doll's hair...

Will update my progress on this....but it's going to be slow going!
