project we did in my room at school...they brought in new teacher desks, so we wrapped my old desk in black paper and the kids used colored chalk to sign it. came across this in the garage today..

Rockets
From four years ago....annoying parachutes and rockets blasted off over at school that ended up over here...one time I was relaxing in my living room and kids came running by the window chasing their rocket stuff...about scared me to death. and it should have scared someone at school....kids running off of school property like that and across a state highway!

This Week
Found this in our yard....it would seem Fall is knocking on the door...but it's way too early for that!
bluebird pictures from a friend's house
These were from last weekend....we watched the twins while Matt and Sarah took the big kids to the school's open house...Ben must have been off to my side the whole time...didn't get a picture of him!
Big Happy Birthday to our beautiful granddaughter on Thursday! Four years old! She is such a sweet girl! Hope she is always as sweet and happy as she is now!

Photo Dump
Picture of a tree across the river from our cabin. Tyler kept saying "see the Jesus sign" and being all amazed by something....this happened a couple different days..finally he got it through to us that this tree had the shape of the Christian fish symbol...see it? He is a neat kid.
round rock I found while swimming in front of the cabin.
Malinda gave them gifts the last day of swim lessons....in Tyler's hand is the lego thing he put together that she bought him. He loves legos! and Emily adores her Pocohantas doll!
Pocohontas helping her play Twister
and helping her eat ice cream! a couple days I gave them a small bowl of ice cream and unlimited access to my sprinkle collection. haha may have gotten a little carried away!
Coolers all over the track. This is the annual end to the week long band camp. and enormous water fight. I will keep my thoughts on this to myself.
Hot one here today! 101!

Tyler Time
We picked up Tyler from school a couple days last week and spent some extra time with him....we walked over to school and took this picture of the old town mill..note the daffodils that have naturalized nearby. One day we'll walk clear over there with him, but he had his school clothes on this day.
He was excited to explore inside the greenhouse...it has lots of plants in it!
He really liked these aloe plants and asked that I take his picture by them!
Here is some really big aloe plants, they are even blooming!
Frog on a cattle panel over by the freezer shed...he just sat there and let us study on him!
It was fun to spend some extra time with Tyler! Hope to do more of that this Summer!Sunday, December 11, 2016
Old Time Christmas
I went through some of my Christmas boxes a couple days ago to see what all was in them. I came across these ceramic ornaments....believe someone made them for my Mom once...
a festive Santa pin, the nose is supposed to light up...
various vintage things. I actually have several of those white bell looking things. They are made in part of sugar. can't believe they have not melted in the dungeon!
Some crafty things I made when I was a kid. I think some of these were 4-H projects....just sure the tin can lid wind chimes were from 4-H. Can you imagine the uproar there would be now if you gave a bunch of kids sharp can lids to do crafts with? We were told to be careful and I believe we were...there is a glittery Sycamore ball......the ornament on the left was made from egg carton parts....and the bottom middle ornament was made by using tiny pictures cut from Christmas Cards and pieced/glued together. I am thinking that must have taken a very long time to make! Ha!
These actually have a pretty sound when shaken against each other..
This was used by my Mom when she was Elem Sec. She would display it in the window of the office so the kids could see it from the hall. She said they really liked it and I bet they did. I am really liking it now, displayed on a little table by our dishwasher!

Prom 2016
Sarah wanted to take Emily to watch the kids walk into Prom this weekend....I haven't done that in ten years probably...Seems to be a pretty popular thing to do here in our little town!
Lots of people there....could have gotten better pictures if I had left the little corner I was standing in..will do better next time!
Looks like most of the "action" was further down the sidewalk!
Wonder if other little towns do this on prom night?
Plenty of people there taking pictures!
