Easter Week

Here is my entry for the social distance  egg hunt that is being organized for our town.   You can an egg up and the families drive around and spot them...so I think this will work and  sure hope the kids have fun looking all over town for eggs!

I found these when i was cleaning out one of our junk drawers...Note pad from the bank...note the 314 area code...long since changed.

Catching Up

These pictures are from earlier in the Spring.  We had lots of Orioles in May...even some Rose-breasted Grosbeaks. I didn't get any really good pictures.....it was really neat and unusual to have several Orioles at one time, or even a few would be awesome. anyway, they liked the hummingbird feeder and I put out grape jelly on little orange plates and they really liked that. Other people around here also had lots of these birds....was pretty neat!

Wild Sweet William on the river bank

at a local gas station..."truck" made out of a van....and you can't tell it here, but the back window was plywood with a hole cut it it covered in plastic....for sure a one-or-a-kind vehicle!

Randoms

I found this in the ditch by our mailbox....has been out in the elements a very long time...rusted and bent and I have to wonder about when and how it ended up there...and wish I knew the story of that! What a story that might be!

Picture Time

Have several of these bushes in the mae yard.....can't ever remember the name and it's not even that yard!  Mock Orange maybe? not sure

There is a also a couple sections of these old fashioned roses...smell soo good and are so sweet. I battle the honeysuckle to stay out of them with varying success...

Emily spotted this the day she was here.... a crab type spider eating a fly....it was on one of the big peonies right by our house...I was glad she was interested in it...

Almost Full Moon

Pretty moon this evening....glad we had clear skies so we could see it!  Will be full Saturday night!

Fun Times

My latest puzzle...another gift from Malinda!  was fun to do and Tyler and Emily helped take it apart today.

I won this neat necklace from a local vendor at the Chamber of Commerce's fundraiser last night. We had a really good time and I am sure glad we went!

River Stuff

The first two pictures here were taken nearly a week ago...the area is completely iced over now...and the bank project also looks different now..

Icy River

The first few pictures here were taken last Wednesday at the cabin...has been below freezing for a few more days now, so imagine it looks more icy now...

Looks like quite the project. There has been a constant drone of dump trucks all week...back and forth!

Sunday Morning

I was wakened Sunday morning at 3:30  by the sounds of a woman screaming....by the time I figured out there had been a wreck by our place there was a deputy arriving....and lots of volunteer firemen, trucks, and ambulance and a roll back...much lights and noise in the early morning....the girl had ran off the road, hit this big ditch, took out the sign and continued on over the mae driveway and back onto the highway...quite a ride!

Sunday morning we walked down to check it out...found this bird and stuck it in the fence....wonder how long it'll stay there.....I haven't heard, but I am thinking the girl wasn't hurt much....
