Lil' Drowsy Beans

We had Emily yesterday for the day, just because we can and wanted to. Here are some of the many faces of Emily with the Drowsy Beans dolls...

My favorite one..

When our first daughter was born, our neighbor brought over the pink one as a gift....and when our second daughter was born she searched though her house and found a blue one. Our girls loved these dolls when they were little.

There are the Beansy dolls photobombing! That chair they are in was from my Nebraska Grandparents. Our kids always called it the "Jesus Chair" I supposed because it looks like something you might see in a church. We brought it upstairs recently for extra seating  when we had company and Emily has named it the "Princess Chair"  In this picture Emily is sitting on a little stool that belonged to my Great-Grandma Alber.  it usually sits in the corner where the Jesus/Princess Chair is now and is used by Emily to climb up onto the bed.

I bought this at a yard sale from a lady that was downsizing in 2013..for $4....it is about five or six inches high....believe it's called Old Sleepy Eye

A while back Sarah made this out of the kids' handprints....so cute and the sand at the bottom is from the Gasconade River!  I thought it was really cute and a good Summer decoration!

A couple plates out of the china cabinet today....a vintage Pioneer Village plate.....we have been there, and it was pretty amazing! could have spent two days there!

I found this button Wednesday morning behind the Mae house....It had worked it's way up through the soil....it is about the size of a dime...wonder about who lost it there.

The shot glass is from a really neat place in Nebraska...a deal built over I-80 I believe....neat museum..the little doll is from when I was a kid.....came maybe in a deal so you could wear it as a necklace. Can't remember the name of it and I should have looked it up!

Little shelf hanging in our kitchen...on the top is a couple dead insects, and if you know me that is no surprise! Ha! also on the top is a white china dog that I found in the Old Jail Museum yard when we were digging to plant daffodils...corsage from Sarah's wedding....The rest are little treasures gathered from here and there..a couple were my Mom's...the little birdnest was Grandma Frieda's..most of the little china animals came from a place called Wilson's Baskets over at the Lake...Whenever we would get over that way, which wasn't very often we would get to pick out a little animal....they had all kinds. years later we dropped by there with out kids and it wasn't much of a going concern anymore..don't know if it's still in business, probably not.

Neat tree made of sliced up sticks..says on the back it was bought at a Rolla craft fair in 1970...the little mesh metal deals are what my Dad used to fry fish..

Macrame owl and key chain my Mom made...Both these items just say 1070's don't they?

On the left,an occupied Japan piece we got at the Kloeppel auction (Matt's Grandparents) I think I picked up the middle piece at a yard sale. The sleepy girl on the right was made by my Mom in ceramics....I am going to give it to Emily next time I go to her house..it reminds me of her and the age she is now!
