Star of the Yard
The star of the yard last week and this week are the two Elderberry bushes we have. Both volunteers of course, but they have bloomed wonderfully this year.

This Week
Neat bird nest Richard told me about over in the mae yard...He said a dove had been using it
snail on a leaf over by the garden
We kept Jack and Emily today just because we wanted to. They were obsessed with this basket of seashells...and there on the table is a book on seashells I found...They enjoyed that too. They were listening to the ocean in this larger shell!

The Weekend
Sadly, I only took a couple pictures this weekend...Richard cooked four slabs of ribs ...we had some but the real reason he cooked some was to take some to a funeral dinner....

Snapper
We saw a snapping turtle passing through our yard the other day...It was kind of neat to see. We figured it was going from one creek or pond to another creek or pond....
I think it was wondering why I was taking it's picture!

Catching Up
These pictures are from earlier in the Spring. We had lots of Orioles in May...even some Rose-breasted Grosbeaks. I didn't get any really good pictures.....it was really neat and unusual to have several Orioles at one time, or even a few would be awesome. anyway, they liked the hummingbird feeder and I put out grape jelly on little orange plates and they really liked that. Other people around here also had lots of these birds....was pretty neat!
Wild Sweet William on the river bank
at a local gas station..."truck" made out of a van....and you can't tell it here, but the back window was plywood with a hole cut it it covered in plastic....for sure a one-or-a-kind vehicle!
