Random Photos

Some milkweed Richard found down on the Mae place and brought up so I could see it...I put it in an old crock in the corner of the living room.....What a neat plant!
Playing with the new camera...taking a picture of part of the wreath I got at Maries Hollow.
These two pictures are from late November....down by the river. Always amazes me how sometimes it seems the trees are growing out of rocks...

Thursday Night Randoms

A vintage tablecloth I used on the dining room table a couple of weeks.....may get it back out again next week!
We watched the kids today and Tyler and Emily enjoyed the bean bag chair that Dixie gave us....Emily liked to sit on the edge of it, more like a chair. It is in pristine condition and I am going to guess it's from the late sixties or early seventies..
Found this Taco Bell dog downstairs and thought the kids would like to play with it...Squeeze it's ear and it has maybe five different sayings it says....I sure liked the ad campaign Taco Bell had using this little dog, but the way I remember it they were pressured into suspending the campaign because some saw it as politically incorrect.  Well, they sure were cute commercials!
Have been really busy in my nylon net ball scrubbie factory.  I know it doesn't look like it, but this is seven dozen net balls.....I still have more net to go and am going to make them until I run out of net. Shouldn't have to make these again for a while! Ha!
We are looking forward to another fun day tomorrow with the kids!

Piggy Bank

This is one of the very few items we have from Richard's childhood....a cute ceramic piggy bank...It stands about six inches high or so....It's marked Italy  172/2 on the bottom...it has been living downstairs for years and now will reside upstairs somewhere!

Nylon Net Mania

I spent most of yesterday afternoon and part of this morning cutting nylon net to make net balls out of....love using those to wash dishes! I used a cutting mat and a rotary cutter to make quicker work of it....used two spinach cans to hold it down and a composition notebook to keep it all together after I cut the strips.
Wow....do I have a lot of nylon net cut or what? haha Will open the net ball factory one of these days and then I will have a reserve supply for a long time I like all the pretty colors!

Things That Break

If you have ever broken a corelle , you know that is just shatters! Especially when dropped onto ceramic tile!
On Christmas Eve morning, I was cleaning the bathroom and didn't know my own strength when drying the soap dish! Ha! Broke it right in half! I bought this at Goodwill years ago for one shiny dime!  It is marked some company and Japan on the bottom...it did have a tiny chip in the rim, so probably wasn't worth much more than a dime. Naturally I couldn't just throw this away, so out came the glue and I fixed it....we'll se ehow it holds up now!

Old Cabin Find

I found this case in the old cabin last Summer...I brought it to town this Fall and use it for Tyler to store all his little toy cars in here at the house....works good for that! I have been meaning to look up the name of what I suppose was a TV show? Just to see what it was all about and how old this might be.

Bird/Window Collision

A few days ago when the kids were here a bird hit the window...or the front door actually...anyway, it was just stunned, so Richard went out to pick it up until it seemed ok. Tyler thought it was pretty neat. He turned it lose shortly after this and after sitting on the deck for a bit it flew off!

An Old New Toy

Tyler enjoyed playing with a toy I found in the dungeon the other day....four foam type items with different shapes cut out of them...similar to a puzzle I guess.  they are in perfect shape except the corner being torn off the green one. He played with these Friday when we watched him and Emily and then again when they were here again Saturday....He thought it was pretty fun!
