Valentine's Day

Got the neatest cards today for Valentine's Day! Look at those four little sweeties!

And eight yummy cookies that their Mama baked and Tyler and Emily helped decorate! 

Vintage Santas

Vintage Santas..that was the name of the Hallmark puzzle from 1996 That is finished today. I bought it new off a facebook sales group...Tyler even placed in a couple pieces today when he was here!

Family Leader of Tomorrow!

Bet you didn't know I was a Family Leader of Tomorrow! Ha! Back in the dark ages Betty Crocker gave out an award to one senior girl each year....yeah, that was me! Ha! The senior girls in Home Ec I suppose took  a written test..the highest score got the award. At that time all the girls took that class, so imagine my surprise (and probably the teacher's surprise) when I won! My Aunt won from her class too so we always joke with each other about being a FLOT! Ha!  anyway, I found this when I went through that jewelry box this week.....Here is the front of it...

and the back...Betty Crocker  Family Leader of Tomorrow.It is corroded....Probably from being stored in the dungeon for years...oh...and since I have had it since 1974! Ha!

Childhood Jewelry Box

I went through a jewelry box from when I was a kid yesterday....It has been in the dungeon.....the smiley face pendant is painted metal..the two white horses are metal pins..Not sure on the Methodist 50? Two little wooden animals..etc....

Inside the jewelry box was another box...ahh...misc items!

Three charm bracelets....the bottom one was mine...not sure where the other two came from.

And Another One!

I did this puzzle this morning while it was snowing.....had not done it in years and some of the pieces were not all apart yet, so cheating, but made it go faster!

Only problem was this tiny picture I had to work off of..........and yes, 1996..from Hallmark!

Finished the puzzle today that I started yesterday!

He would rather watch the birds at the feeders in the front yard.

The shed antler Richard found adds a lot to the Valentine Display on the front table! Ha!

Patriotic Cookies

I finished the patriotic cookies just now....only made six of them, instead of the eight I had done for the other "categories"

Guess this will be it for the felt cookies for a while...Still want to make some Fall and Halloween ones....and more Christmas ones, but will save that for a later time.

Birthday Cookies

I finished what I am calling the birthday cookies this morning...Not really for her birthday, but I wanted to make some out of some fun colors...

And of course we have to have a least a little pink for a little girl!

More Felt Cookies

I finished some more felt cookies for Emily this afternoon...eight Easter cookies and two for St. Pat's Day.  Not perfect for sure, but she won't mind that! Funny story on the butterflies for the Easter cookies....I only had six butterfly beads so I rationed them out.....Later I found a whole container of them in the dungeon! Maybe I will make more later, or use them on something else.

Sheets and Needles

Last week I washed and line-dried some sheets that I have had stored since our girls were little....Time now to pass them on to Emily!

Hope she can get some use out of some of them.....I had already passed on to them the Winnie the Pooh ones and the 101 Dalmation ones when Tyler was two..

I was doing some sewing the other day and noticed the  price tag on this package of needles...barely over a dollar sounded like a good price for 50 needles.....Not sure how they are priced currently.I need to look that up! 

Curious about how old they were I looked at the back of the package...they are dated 1981!

Maramec Springs

We went to Maramec Springs Monday...such a pretty day! Here is the dam that was damaged by the flooding in late December...

We stopped to buy some fish food and saw this arrowhead in the concrete by the feeder thing...Never have noticed that before....pretty neat!

The level of the Spring is down....something about them pumping water out of it to put somewhere else due to the flood damage.

Monkey had fun feeding the fish too! He didn't even knock over his cup of food!

We watched a few people fishing....and took a good walk. It was a pleasant day.
