Wish I knew the name of this vine....it is growing wild over on the garden fence..

We have such pretty zinnias this year..white, red, orange, purple pink, yellow and more....this one is a bit different, it's almost a coral color....I like zinnias...they bloom all Summer with minimal care and the butterflies sure like them!

Sock Monkey goes to the Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday evening I discovered this big pumpkin growing right by the back fence of the garden...not sure how I have missed this before, but there are a lot of tall grasses there and I just didn't see if before....I was pretty excited to see it! So this morning sock monkey went to go see it also!

It seems bigger in person than in these pictures....will look good in our Fall display!

Timber!

We had four large Silver Maples taken out over at the Mae Place a couple weeks ago....all way past their prime, and Silver Maples are known to be weak trees anyway..one leaning towards the shed....another leaning toward the house....

Big one just East of the Mae House....this one was a huge tree...last year he had to use the pole saw to do what he could since it was rubbing on the roof...we decided to just take it out since it was likely to fall on something we didn't want it to....here they are getting started on it..

wow!! looks like the house is out in the middle of the prairie or something! Ha! It actually doesn't look this much different....Just the angle I took the picture from made it look so stark.

Looking like it was a good decision...thinking about what to do with the hollow pieces...should be able to do something creative!

Stump from the biggest one....Can't really tell it but a huge chunk got caught up there in the top and they left it there. Richard was not nearly amused about that was I was! Ha! 

Garden Bunny

A couple evenings ago I was stepping through the tangled mess of pumpkin/gourd vines/weeds in part of the garden, pulling up random tall weeds and checking out our pumpkin crop.. I pulled up a tangle of weeds and this little guy was laying there....so cute! I watched him for a bit then stepped away so he could continue to hide!

Back to the Fifties

I made some curtains for our youngest daughter yesterday, then ironed them.....old school style! with a vintage ironing board and iron! I believe my Mom said the iron was a gift to her from her Grandmother!  and it still works great!

Two doves on the power line...took this picture yesterday...They have such a pretty song!

Vienna Rocks

Richard spotted these two rocks when he was mowing at the Old Jail last week....the face one was amazing! I relocated both of them on the museum grounds.

Sarah painted this Nemo rock for me to take to the cabin....it is so cute and they are going to look great down there!

Mae House Finds

Not sure if I have had some of this on here before...possibly have, but I came across it in a closed area last week, so it's all new to me! Ha! razor blade packs, avon bottles, etc

Looks like someone used a picture out of a magazine to use for a decoration..

Tucker's Dairy from Rolla....was apparently used to freeze a rabbit at some point!

a fork and spoon? a spool of thread? 35 cent razor blades ..oh, and  a razor!

avon bottles...the one that looks like cut glass has never been opened..suppose I could clean it out and use it for something....

on my way back to our house, I found a penny in the yard....quite corroded, but I could tell it was a wheat penny and although I can't be certain, appears to be from 1956!
