Lost Canoe

This is at our boat ramp...pretty far up in a tree..a canoe that got wrapped around a tree during the flood.

We didn't walk down close to it due to the mud, will do that another time!

Line across the River

Power pole broken off when a wire got hung on something and it down in the water.

Pretty strong tension on this wire!

wonder what the plan is on fixing it

can't see it in the picture, but the pole on the other side of the river was pulled out of the ground.

crest for this flood was 20 feet

Seems odd that a 20 foot crest doesn't seem all that remarkable anymore....we'll hope we don't get too much rain over the next couple of days.

Mute Monday

In With the New

 New kitchen faucet...seems fine.....quality sure isn't what the other one was, but that is how that goes...lots of things made thirty years ago are of better quality than those made now.

Hallway lights. I like these and am glad we put them in.  I did pinterest some ideas on what to do with the old lights and eventually came across some examples of our exact old light fixture made over.  Glass panes removed....fixture painted. and looks like what is in the stores now!

went down to the river today to prepare for the next flood....didn't take too long and we had things ready. Will just hope that their predications are correct and it does  not go higher!

Out with the Old

And they are down! We replaced these light fixture in our house this week....these fixtures just scream the 80's.  Even the guy who took them down had a laugh at them....they were sooo hard to clean, so you can tell I sure hadn't done that in a while! They were down the hall, really weren't all that noticeable. 

One of them before they were removed...and yes, that is a popcorn ceiling! ha!

Kitchen faucet.  I liked this faucet,but it had certainly more than served its purpose and needed replaced.

as did this bathroom faucet.  so weird to have these things replaced...all were original to the house, built in 1988.

Will have the new stuff on here soon!

Another Puzzle

I finished another puzzle! Richard got me this one for Christmas...so now I have done all my new ones..that's ok...I have quite a supply of others to pick from!

Paydown

We went to St. James the other day to pick up some flags for church...we took the long way home and ended up going through Paydown.  Here is Mill Creek..

very pretty....can't tell but there was some watercress in the creek.

awesome old house in the background...would be so neat if someone would fix it all back up!

Fun Times

My latest puzzle...another gift from Malinda!  was fun to do and Tyler and Emily helped take it apart today.

I won this neat necklace from a local vendor at the Chamber of Commerce's fundraiser last night. We had a really good time and I am sure glad we went!

Ice

We had some ice this past weekend.  This is the best picture I could get because I didn't want to risk falling by going out on it very much.  It was pretty and only lasted a couple days.  See the big empty tree chunks?  a new addition to the yard.

Puzzle

Here is the puzzle I did last week!  It is a new one that I got from Malinda for Christmas.  She knows I like cats!  It was a fun one to do!

Charlotte

I noticed a couple days ago that it looked like something got into one of Charlotte's egg sacks...probably a bird?

Guess that is why those spiders make more than one egg sack!

Sycamore Tree

I noticed this up high in our Sycamore tree yesterday...I am wondering what this is....a bird nest of some sort?  

Kind of looks like it has an entry hole in this picture....I may go out with the binoculars later on and have a better look at it.

Pasta

I cleaned out another cabinet this week.....I do believe it is time I start skipping those good sale prices in the pasta section! Wow! and dry Great Northern Beans....there are four pounds here!

Surprise Snow

Well it was a surprise to me anyway!  Jack was not amused! Ha!  He did shake the snow off himself before he came in.  

 It snowed really hard at times.

Can't tell it in this picture, but the birds fed heavily today and after the snow the cardinals were so pretty against the white snow....there were so many I couldn't count them!

Felt bad for the people out on the roads, but it was pretty for those of us at home and I enjoyed it!
