Colorado Buildings

Just a few of the interesting buildings we saw in Colorado....
This one has been boarded up for hopeful future renovation...
I like the old fences too...
Faint red paint left..
An old mine...
Coke Ovens...
An old homestead..

Sock Monkey Does Colorado

Sock Monkey went with us on an eight day trip to Colorado...He was a bit scared of the heights in this picture and had his tail tucked around him!
The Aspen trees were awesome!
We read a bunch of signs!
I think the mountain streams might have been the best part!
The sky was so blue!
Loving the John Deere equipment...
Pretty water.
Oh my! That is a long ways down there!
It was a relaxing and pleasant trip...stay tuned for more Colorado pictures!

Things I Don't Understand

A couple random pictures today...the first one is a guy parking his boat blocking access to another person's cabin.....Richard said the guy was probably drunk when he parked it....which may very well be true....but he wasn't drunk the next morning when he got up.....Don't understand people that do things like that!
I will be the first to admit I know nothing about building stuff....but this just seems odd to me...the bridge would act as a dam it seems....no pipes, etc for the water to go through. Seems like it would cause lots of erosion as the water is trying to get somewhere....but like I said, I don't know anything about it! This is a bridge in the Dry Creek area..

Just hanging out in the garden!
Hope it's a good Tuesday for you!

Flowers

This sunflower sprouted up in our zinnia bed on the West side of  the house...When the seeds ripened goldfinches enjoyed the seeds..
Flowers we got for the altar at church last Sunday in honor of my Mom's birthday...I thought they did a good job on them and they still look this nice!

Parade 2014

Just a few parade pictures....the beginning of the parade....coming up from school on the street between the post office and the "old" bank.
This is actually the second trailer of a float...from the Class of 64.....celebrating their 50 year reunion!
Gary on his old tractor..
The first part of the Class of 64 float...I thought it was really neat they did that!
It was a decent parade....pretty hot by the time it got over....but it usually is!

Garden Pictures

I found this spider in the garden one day last week...These spiders always remind me of late Summer...I think they are really neat! I love their colors and the zig-zag that is in their web.
This little guy was scurrying about under the sunflowers.
interesting gourd!
I picked these yesterday....
I like the colors and sights of Fall....I used an old wagon to haul them back to the house....will give them a quick wash in a bleach/water solution...then it's off to the basement for them...but not for much longer...it's about time to set up our Fall display!
