Monday Randoms

Just how many fabric totes does a person need? I think I have exceeded what is needed....I saved back about ten of these and am donating the rest.....Such a handy item, but I think this is more than I need!
Two small vintage child's tea set saucers...made of metal, they are two-three inches across....have them displayed so I can see them now!
Vintage label on a suitcase
Says Denver Detroit on the bottom of the label
Have been trying to get some things done inside this morning...believe I will go outside for a break!

Puzzles and More

I did this puzzle last week!
And this one this week!  On both of these we took out about a dozen pieces when Tyler came down so he could help finish them! He thought that was neat!
This was taken a while back...temps were below freezing, but the snow on the roof was melting due to the was cold enough that it was making some sort of mist...this went on for a couple of days...
Hand pump out of the Mae House...Right now it's in front of the bay window....will have to figure out a way/place to display it!
Sarah and the kids came by Friday after work...Here is sweet Emily with her little cat hat on, ready to go home...She is just the sweetest little girl!

Friday Surprises

We went to the cabin this morning to check on things since we had some high winds yesterday....Our first surprise was our neighbor down there was adding on to his place....adding a room that is elevated higher, hopefully out of the reach of floodwaters...
Our second surprise was not so pleasant...apparently someone had gotten stuck down there....actually you can see where they about went over the river bank...then apparently got a tractor to come pull them out..This is what we called the "flat" a nice, grassy area . It was anyway.
The view from the deck. Hopefully when it dries up, whoever did this will come back and fix it. Hey, a girl can hope, right?
Looking down river..will hope for no more big floods this year....and no scorching droughts, so we can have campfires and cook outs.....

Sunday-Southern Boone County

Sunday after lunch we took a road trip up to Southern Boone County...saw this in Hartsburg....
Interesting window decorations!
Some of the county roads were still partially snow/ice covered
We saw a few neat old barns...this one had wooden shingles peeking out from under the tin roof.
Missouri River
Boats stuck in the ground like posts or something....Wonder what the story is behind these!
McBaine Burr Oak tree....this tree is huge! Bigger than the picture supposedly has a facebook page!
A parting shot of the Burr Oak tree...
It was a fun afternoon!

More China Cabinet

A few more things I found in the china cabinet....this ring made out of was tarnished, but with the silver cleaner took less than a minute to make it shiny again!
These little  things were inside something else (I found lots of stuff inside other stuff...imagine that! Ha!) Anyway, I think these were my Mom's and attached to some sort of beanie type hat at one time...
I shall store them in this little is about an inch and a half tall....I bought it at a yard sale last Summer.
Measuring cups I had given Grandma Frieda...
A fairly flat metal tray...I can remember  this is the item my Mom always used when she made an angel food cake..
Not sure where this came from.....the orange color is refreshing here in February in Missouri..
I did finish the china cabinet...was neat to look at everything....and the bottom part is WAY more organized!

Valentine's Day

We had a nice Valentine's Day...We had visitors after work/school. Sarah, the kids, and Malinda all came down....Here is Tyler with the little balloon we got him...oh,and you can see my last puzzle...the box is propped up in the background of this picture....A big double cheeseburger!
Our littlest valentine! She liked her balloon too! Love her valentine outfit!
We gave Tyler the micro machines I had found downstairs...he really liked them! Concentrating pretty hard on it here!
We gave Emily a case of Pampers baby wipes...very practical gift...
Richard and I each got one of these from Sarah and family...we also got a heart shaped box of candy from Malinda..
I think she was watching Tyler here.
Little Sweetie
After the kids left we had a nice dinner....baked red potatoes, salad, fresh strawberries with steak and skewered  shrimp....both cooked on the grill. Good stuff!

Thankful for all the special people in our lives!
