Rusty Fence

I took these pictures near the last cattle guard on the way to the cabin....One day Richard
decided to start at the top of the hill and trim branches that were hanging out in the road.
I decided to go along and while he stopped at the top of the hill to work his way down, I
would walk down to the cabin. What a bad idea! First off, that is a long ways. Secondly,
the mosquitoes are really bad right now, and I had no spray. And to make me sound even
dumber, when I got to the cabin, I had no key to get in, so I had to sit outside and swat
at literally 100's of mosquitoes.....I sure should have known better! It was so bad I
considered covering up with the spider infested tarp that was over the firewood pile! I am
pretty sure that next time I will think things through a little better! haha!

Little Old Building

An abandoned little building...know where it is?
Looking inside the front door.
A forgotten office chair.
Not sure why this boulder is in front of the place?
On the South side...all the windows of course are broken out.
We went to mow the Poor Farm Graveyard last night and while he was finishing the weedeating, I took some pictures of the little office building....This is at the former charcoal kilns Southeast of town...which at one time was sure a going concern!

Well-Traveled Live Oak Leaves

When we were at my Mom's in Florida, some leaves from their Live Oak tree fell on
our car. This brave leaf is wedged by the windshield and made the whole trip back
there..actually, it's still there! I think it'll be interesting to see how long it stays there.
There are also some on the driver's side of the windshield...
Still some in the trunk as well, and a couple inside the car...I thought it was neat how those ones on the windshield are still there.

Foggy Saturday Morning

Cool and foggy this morning, so I went outside to see what I could find...Pretty pink peony..
Old fashioned roses starting to bloom.
Old Oak tree in the fog..
We have several of these bushes and they are huge...meaning they need trimmed!
Deer scared of the chickweed and wintercreeper..
White iris...gave my friend Norma some of these last year..hope they are
blooming for her.
The insides of the flower are neat too!
More Iris insides!
Peach Iris that my friend Norma traded me years ago.
Robin's nest in the cedar tree by the highway

dark yellow...
Wildflowers growing in several places in our yard.
Bush we have by the highway...just covered with blooms....I am going to guess this
bush is probably about ten feet tall.
Sure was a pleasant morning for a walk!

Monday on the River

We took our first boat ride of the year on the river yesterday...Monday afternoon at Thox Rock..
Isn't retirement great? ha!
Buzzards hanging out on the bluff.
Flowers on the gravel bar across from Nagagami Lodge
The next three pictures we took when we went up into the slough right above Thox Rock...a snake enjoying the sunshine...
Pretty colored bug.
Little turtle.
At pipeline now...
It sure was a nice place to be on a sunny Monday afternoon!
