First Day of Summer

We had a good day on the Summer Solstice...longest day of the year! While touring the yard this morning, I saw the Catalpa Worms.....ate some of those raspberries growing in the Mae yard (they are soo good!), and took a tour of the garden....Here is a baby Summer Squash..I ended up picking a half dozen of those...
In the corner of the garden, there is an area of volunteer gourds, pumpkins, etc. They sprouted up from where we dumped our Fall decorations last year. I don't think anyone told them that we don't need them ready in July! Ha!
Perhaps my favorite garden item to look forward to!
Green beans are about ready!
We made a couple trips out here on Saturday....the first was around noon with Sarah and the kids...spent a couple of hours playing in the water/sand in front of the cabin in the shade....It was a good time and Tyler is loving the water! And Emily really likes it too...After we came home for a couple of hours Richard and I went back out and had a campfire and roasted hot dogs...brought the dog along too. around 8 a band of showers moved in, so we headed back to town...all in all a pretty good day!
