Sunday
Here is the beginning of the beautiful sunrise we had this morning..taken from inside our house...it was outstanding, and the pink extended as far West as I could see....
As with a lot of sunrises, it changed quickly..
Reflecting in our windows...you can see our outdoor decorations too...love the reindeer my Uncle made so many years ago!
I finished my cookie project this afternoon....Sarah had asked me to make some felt cookies for Emily to play with...I decided to go with a Christmas cookie theme...I hope she likes them!
Our younger daughter brought us this amazing platter of homemade goodies this afternoon..what a deal! It all looks so good!
She also brought us some dipped pretzels!
It was a good day...and this evening we drove around with her and the two older grandkids to look at Christmas lights..it was fun!

Sunday Randoms
I took this picture Saturday in our yard...we have been lucky to have so much mild weather that this is still blooming!
And this plant is still blooming too!
This deer was behind our house several days after deer season. I watched it for a while....glad it survived the hunting season, at least for now! Ha!

Mae Field Fun
We went on a mission down in the Mae field/woods yesterday..This huge oak tree had big fungus things all around it's base..obviously it is dying..it is a huge tree and would be interesting to know how old it is.....
we were cutting down a cedar tree to put on the back deck and three stealth bombers flew over..wow..you would have thought I could have gotten a better picture than this! There is only one in the picture and not sure if it's going to show up or not.....
Here is my Charlie Brown tree! Wow, you would think I could have found one better than that! Ha! They always look different out in the woods!

Steeple Work
The Catholic Church is getting some work one on their steeple this week....
I don't envy those men working so high in the air!
View from the Methodist Church parking lot...
The Methodist Church had some issues with their steeple, so it has been removed and will be replaced soon.....looks so different without it there!

Thursday Road Trip
Yesterday we headed out on another adventure! We went to see two great friends of ours and had a nice visit in their lovely home...then we all went out to lunch. We had lunch at his place..
We went to see the world's largest pecan! Sock monkey was impressed!
We took our time and read the sign..
They even had pecan leaves imprinted on the concrete there..pretty neat!
After that we traveled farther north and visited this huge goose..
It was so big sock monkey was almost scared!
another sign!
I understand they built this in Kansas City and then flew it there by helicopter.......wouldn't that have been something to see!
Even the restroom had a goose on it!
and on to another place...
Very impressed with the interlocked deer!
and some of the tools the CCC used.
Find the monkey!
This was a table full of things for kids to explore..good assortment of things.
Sock Monkey wasn't too sure about this....
We had a wonderful day and was so good to catch up with our friends!
