The Clean-up Begins!

We went down today to get started on our clean-up. Thank goodness we put things super high, even though they were not calling for it to even get that high at all.  Well, it got high...and had we known it was going to get that high, we would have put even more stuff up...but, we did pretty good, I think. This is the porch area.

Into the kitchen..lovely pattern on the ceramic tile!

Good thing we put the appliances up on concrete blocks and pallets..it was probably about an inch below that.

One mistake I did make...and keep in mind they didn't call for it to get that high....remember the blue tote sitting by the bunk beds? it was full of sheets and other bedding and suppose when it got deep enough in there it started to float and tipped over, allowing the water to get in the tote....sooo right now down a the cabin it looks like I am having a yard sale with all that bedding draped over the deck railing. We'll bring it home to wash tomorrow.

Look at this beautiful pattern on the tile...

I was sure the tile didn't have a pattern, but it was everywhere...

Nice lines on the toilet!

measuring the depth of the water using the glass door.

about 16.25

I am kind of "slow" sometimes....I had been on my hands/knees using a small squeege on the edges/corners.....still could not figure out why the tile had a pattern...then I realized it was because the water in the mud was frozen, thus this Jack Frost like pattern....haha can't believe it took me that long to figure that out!

mud in the road/yard area at least twice as bad as last time....

"mud line" on the screen door

while we were on the deck, Richard heard some trees snapping and there went part of the bank...sure hate to see that....this area is between the potty house and Westy's...

We stopped to look at when we were leaving and another small chunk fell in.

big crack where more is going to go in...

Pink Flamingo from our neighbor's place. They had two of these that survived the Flood of 2013 by getting hung in some brush, and here this one is....

Not sure if he will actually go to the effort to retrieve this....I doubt it

This is on the road down to the cabin. If you look closely, you can see the wads of leaves in the trees, showing how deep the water was....well over the truck at this spot.
Feel good about the progress we made today...guess I should have taken an after pic....will do that tomorrow..
