Bee Wars

The other day I declared war on these bees that have decided our redwood deck is what they want to eat/where they want to live....They don't sting, but burrow holes into the wood....Look at it's wood-eating mouth parts!
Score: Me 11...Bees 1   I killed ten and encased one in a hole with some old play-doh.  There was still one flying around, which I will work on another day.....Funny story about the wasp. I had hung laundry on the line the other day, later on Richard put a pair of his shorts on and eventually the wasp (which was inside his shorts) stung him....Ouch! Needless to say, the wasp was soon executed!
They sure are pretty, but don't want our deck chewed up!

We have the same problem with the bees. Maybe redwood is their chosen delicacy. lol They do make the neatest, most perfect holes. But like you, I would prefer they quit eating our decks up!

They do like the redwood...maybe the more expensive the lumber, the better they like it! And yes, perfectly round holes too!
