Ha Ha Tonka

We went over to Ha Ha Tonka on Sunday. It was a beautiful day and the weather was perfect for an outing...this is the Spring located in the park..

Water heading towards the Lake of the Ozarks.
Old Mill wheel.

Pretty scenery along the trail.

We saw a few of these, which I was not familiar with....I tried looking it up, and I think it may be the seeds of a Jack-in-the- Pulpit plant.

Looking up at part of the ruins.

The spring again....I think the sign says this is Missouri's 12th largest spring.

Lots of this near the spring. If I wasn't so unmotivated I would get up and get my wildflower book to see what this is....I am going to guess it's some sort of jewelweed.

Haha this was the end of the trail for me! No thanks!

Natural bridge on a different trail.

I saw this snag on our way back from the natural bridge...I thought it looked like a gator...use your imagination! ha!

Tiny fungi....about an inch high.
It was a pleasant day...We ate dinner at Outback (since I had never been there) Then headed home..stopped at Matt and Sarah's on the way home and had a short, but good visit with them and the grandkids!

Vintage? Little Tikes

Not sure if this qualifies for vintage or not...Getting there though I suppose! I brought up the Little Tikes  house that our kids had to send it on out to Sarah's...This stuff is all in really good shape, except the playhouse is missing it's door, which I will find eventually...our kids had a lot of fun with this...Note how I have the toddler swing hung up higher than the dining room light! Ha!

More of the items that go with it..

This is the "Grandma's House" .....Not sure why I have two Grandpas! I like the orange cat! I never had the stable or barn piece, but I did buy the horses, jockey, and fence things...Two of the horses were already at Sarah's and also the big red family van was already at her house..

Random people and the baby stuff.....
Funny story about the big house with the blue roof...Every year I would carefully spend untold hours Christmas shopping for our girls......planning, shopping, wrapping, etc. Some years Richard would do his shopping on Christmas Eve and what he would be would always be what they liked best....soooo, that is where the big house came from....Christmas Eve shopping at a walmart in Dexter, Mo. haha!

Morning at the River

The girls and I took the two "big kids" down to the cabin this morning for a little outing....we had such a good time! Water was a bit cold, but nice and clear.  Here Emily is keeping an eye on Malinda, who had gone downriver a bit to retrieve a toy that had floated off.
Tyler had lots of fun with the toy boats....same toy boats that our two girls played with!
Sure was a nice place to spend the morning!
More boats!
She is such a sweetie!
Can't go wrong with water and sand!
He also had fun with these....we also had some toy nets that proved to be a lot of fun!
After  playing in the water a while, we had a nice little lunch....We think we should make this a "right before school starts" tradition! Thanks Ron and Liz for watching the twins...and next time maybe Richard won't be working and he can go too!

Nebraska and Oklahoma Visitors

We enjoyed having some of our family here this weekend....My Aunt and Uncle from Nebraska, and my cousin and his son from Oklahoma all came and stayed at the cabin this weekend....we had our traditional fish fry Saturday night, which just happened to be our 34th anniversary! Sarah got up this neat cake to celebrate!  We had a nice time with some boat riding, swimming, campfire and lots of visiting...
I had lit some tiki torches, and when I filled this one I spilled some of the oil down the side of it...I didn't think  a thing about it and Michael noticed it was on fire....It had pretty much gone out by the time I took this picture..

My cousin gave me these two neat bowls he made.....they are so neat!
Sure was nice to have some company here....and I enjoyed the visit not only with them, but with some of the rest of the family too.
