Beef...it's What's for Dinner!

This was from Monday....the finished product! Monday morning...all browned up and ready for the oven! I should have put more carrots in it....I really like the carrots cooked with a roast!

I used this roasting pan that I got from my Nebraska Grandparents....It does a nice job!

Today would have been a good day to cook something like this too!

OMG! That roast looks picture perfect! I like that roasting pan too -- don't make them like that any more, that's for sure. Chinese food for us tonight - trying brown rice - supposed to be healthier; I think I know why. You get tired of waiting for it to cook and just go to bed hungry...fewer calories that way...K

Brown rice? I am proud of you! Sarah tried that once when she lived here and I decided I would rather not eat than to eat that! haha I am sure it's good, though!

That roast looks so good. My husband loves carrots cooked like that.

I recently 'discovered' the crock pot. My mother never had one so I never learned to cook that way.

So far in it I've made BBQ pulled pork and last weekend, a roast. Both excellent and easy.

I don't cook much rice, but I do make orzo. It's super easy to cook and is a cross between rice and pasta. I like it in a baby spinach salad with grilled shrimp.

Winter is such a great time for trying out new recipes.

Thanks! I do like to cook/bake in the Winter....I will have to try the orzo....I haven't heard of it before....

You can find orzo in most stores. It will likely be in the section where they have rice and uncooked beans, peas, etc.

It cooks up slightly larger than white rice, though it isn't sticky. The texture is more like pasta.

I discovered it at one of my favorite restaurants which used it in a salad that I always ordered. I have loved it ever since.

It's also quite inexpensive, like rice.

Let me know it you try it. I am on the lookout for more recipes that use it.
