Mint Hill Community Church

We read about a church in Osage County that was going to be taken down sometime
this month, so we decided to go have a look at it on Sunday.  This church dates back
to 1897 according to the newspaper...was a true community church at one time with
different Protestant ministers taking turns doing the services and all from the community
attending...In the forties it became strictly a Baptist Church, and then was not used
starting sometime in the 70's.
I like the old faded sign and the window above the door!
The old faded red paint is neat too...as is the old door knob and the hook.....
Old cistern laying by the building...
The privy still stands down at the edge of the woods...
I was amazed to see it still had the old "school house" lights on the long chains!
A total of six light fixtures...
There was only one broken window..
Weathered and worn...
The bell was still in place, even the chain was still attached!
Seems a shame it will be gone.
